The big tech and the likes want every single piece of you, so that they can sell you things that you don’t need, for money you don’t have. But we outsmart them by giving what they need to provide the stuff we want.

As a bare minimum you should not mix work and pleasure. Your employer wants to see your every move so they can replace you when you least expect. You should at east have 2 numbers, one for work and one for personal deeds. (extra points if its jmp or an anonymous eSIM - its way easier to switch numbers even when you have 20 eSIM profiles these days but message and call data may mingle, so its better to use jmp but back it up coz app ain’t that good - should I drop a PR alrdy??)

Consider yourself the “operator” (owner) of the profiles that you will manage. You should not mix your banking stuff with the rest. Your health stuff with the travel stuff and your “grey hat” with your “white hat” (black hat’s kindly unfollow me 😉)

You can compartmentalize by using:

1. Firefox profiles (or Chrome Profiles?)

   

2. Different browsers

3. Different VM’s (or qubes - better?)

4. Different Devices all together (can compartmentalize them further by keeping them separate)

Multi Devicrr

The ideal setup is a little bit hard to achieve and if you have never done any kind of compartmentalization or never used anything beyond windows or apple, you may find it, very difficult to manage profiles & devices and communicate between them, but you must keep at it. As

Sovereignty is hard to achieve but one must endure for their kids.

Discord & Comms

Android profiles

You should have different discord accounts on different profiles and separate the servers for those specific ends for headspace, context switching and all that.

As I have mentioned before, compartmentalizing is mental health advise.

Work profile

I really like Graphene OS's work profile, you can even use unpriveleged play store there for beta's and paid apps!

Work profile is managed my an app, in the case of graphene I use shelter.

Work and Owner can be used simultaneously and are more linked than other profiles, hence convenient.

Things I would love on my qubes OS

1. Qubes is currently Xen based, I am not sure if the design decision is due to security or what, but I would really like KVM - Port Qubes OS to KVM.

2. GPU Passthrough for Windows gaming and graphics editing, prob a security thing as well. This or this guide may work, haven’t tested it out yet. some ram issues apparently as well. seamless eh? perfect eh? windows HVM.

3. Secure GPU.

4. KVM Qubes.
