If your employer took your devices for “setting it up”, chances are it installed some minions to spy on you.
While most of your internet traffic is encrypted, WiFi admins can still see the domains you are connecting to.
This is easily solvable by connecting to a vpn, but any random one from the app store or a youtube video will itself spy on you and may still leak the domains you are connecting to.
Thats why I recommend WARP (by cloudflare) as they have solved the domain leakage in the past and are trustworthy.
Plus its free!
Your employer may have installed a custom CA cert, you can check this in IOS by:
Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings
If there are none, you are safe otherwise remove them.
If you can’t, get a second device for personal use.
On IOS, confirm this as well:
Limit ip address tracking and random wifi address in that specific wifi's settings
Consider buying a privacy screen guard to protect yourself from shoulder surfing. There is no brand in this space, any cheap one from amazon will do.
If you want to create a solid foundation for privacy and security consider buying my opsec bible. (Discounted for the readers)
